Can I use my own domain for my Moodle site?

Yes. Current MooDIY hosting plans support custom domains.

When a site is first created, you may use a Moodiy-managed subdomain. To use your own domain, submit a custom domain request from the client portal and follow the DNS instructions provided for that request.

A custom domain is not active immediately. DNS needs to be configured correctly, then Moodiy needs to validate the request and complete the required routing and SSL steps. Until that is complete, keep using the existing site URL.

Steps to submit a custom domain request from the client portal:

  1. Log in to your MooDIY Client Portal.

  2. From the left sidebar, go to Moodle Sites.

  3. Select the Moodle site URL you want to change the domain for.

  4. You will be redirected to the site's Overview page.

  5. From the top navigation menu, click Management.

  6. Scroll down to the Site Address Changes section.

  7. Click Rename Site.

  8. You will be redirected to the Rename Site URL page.

  9. Select Custom Domain

  10. Follow the instructions shown on the page and submit the request.
